    By integrating solar-powered water infrastructure, regenerative agroforestry, and carbon offset certification through established verification mechanisms, HAF enables rural and marginalized communities, particularly women and youth, to both adapt to climate impacts and mitigate emissions through sustainable land use systems. Initiated in 2012, the solution has expanded and evolved year after yearrefining its participatory planning, deepening its technical integration, and scaling its reach acros diverse agroecological zones. Its circular design reinvests the majority of verified carbon revenues directly into local development, reinforcing long-term resilience and sustainability. Morocco faces accelerating deforestation, soil degradation, and rural exodus, all driven by climate stressors and the collapse of traditional agricultural livelihoods. HAFs model directly counters these pressures by restoring ecosystems, securing local water acces, and creating green economic opportunities that anchor families to their land. To date, HAF has:. Improved the livelihoods and climate resilience of over 34,000 farming families acros 56 provinces of Morocco. Distributed more than 2 million trees in the last year alone, advancing soil restoration and carbon capture. Abated 2.1 million tons of CO between 2021 and 2024 through certified carbon monitoring Built potable water infrastructure systems for over 14,000 households, particularly in post-earthquake recovery zones. Created over 3,000 local jobs between 2021 and 2024 in nursery operations, climate monitoring, training, and cooperative enterprise. It takes a significant range of actions, vitally managed by the people, to achieve sustainable land restoration. Training, infrastructure, and partnerships of widely varied forms are necessary. HAF engages by launching with their four-day IMAGINE empowerment workshop which involves assisting each participant and the group confidence building, assessment of their social relationships, and outlook of critical factors of life, ultimately leading towards an action plan for sustainable priority projects.

    Anaroz for Environment and Development is actively leading several agricultural land restoration initiatives acros the Marrakech region/Morocco. Their current projects are primarily located in Tidili, rural communities in Mesfioua, Morocco, where the organization works directly with faith communities to restore degraded agricultural lands. Their flagship project focuses on Tidili Mesfioua, where the organization is implementing specific techniques, such as agroforestry systems, soil conservation measures, native seed restoration, acros approximately 50 hectares. This initiative involves 4 local faith communities and has already restored, over 30 hectares of degraded farmland and established 2,000 native trees. The organization is also planning to expand their work to nearby areas of their site, where the organization will introduce regenerative farming practices, community seed banks and water harvesting systems. These planned initiatives will engage 7 additional faith communities and aim to restore 70 hectares of degraded agricultural land. Their approach integrates traditional ecological knowledge with modern restoration science, emphasizing community participation and capacity building. The organization works closely with local religious leaders to ensure their projects align with faith values and community needs. Key strategies include, rotational grazing systems, cover cropping, erosion control measures, biodiversity corridors. Through these efforts, the organization has observed significant improvements in soil health, water retention, and local biodiversity. Their faith-based approach has proven particularly effective in sustaining long-term community engagement and ensuring project continuity. The Faith4Land Masterclass would provide valuable technical knowledge and global perspectives to enhance and scale their restoration impact. While community interest is high, the organization often lack acces to expert support and sustainable resources to maintain and scale their projects. In some cases, navigating land-use permissions or gaining institutional support also delays implementation.
