Their organization is currently initiating land restoration activities in El Besbes, Biskra Province, Algeria, specifically on a site known Sitrallah. While their restoration work is at the planning and pilot stage, the organization is deeply committed to launching a long-term effort to rehabilitate and preserve the fragile steppe and oasis ecosystem of this region. The land suffers from degradation due to unsustainable practices and increasing pressure on natural water resources, especially the underground aquifers. Their planned activities aim to restore vegetation cover (Acacia sp, Pistachia atlantica, Ziziphus lotus,.) improve soil health, and protect these groundwater reserves. A key focus is on reintroducing and preserving native plant and animal species typical of the oasian-steppe transition zones, which are increasingly threatened. These actions align with their broader vision of sustainable land use, climate resilience, and community-led conservation. The organization is currently engaging local families, many of whom are descendants of the original landowners, in participatory land management and environmental education. The organization seek technical support and partnerships to strengthen this effort, integrate traditional ecological knowledge, and scale restoration practices rooted in cultural and ecological heritage. The land is collectively inherited by large families or tribal groups over five generations, often without formal legal registration. This situation creates legal uncertainty, making it impossible for any individual to fully invest in or manage the land. Activities such as digging wells, planting trees, or implementing sustainable infrastructure are blocked, as no single person hmainly short-cycle crops dependent on seasonal rainfall. The prolonged climate pressure has led to soil degradation, reduced productivity, and los of native biodiversity, further threatening the ecological balance of the region.

The organization activelys collaborates with local institutions and farmers for experimental trials and land restoration projects. In Biotechnolgy Research Center*CRBt's role, The organization contributes to land stewardship by designing and conducting experiments on degraded or marginal soils using microbial-based biofertilizers, particularly plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR). Biotechnolgy Research Center*CRBt is involved in evaluating soil health, monitoring plant responses, and assessing long-term impacts on soil fertility and productivity. These activities support the sustainable management and rehabilitation of agricultural land in semi-arid regions of Algeria. Biotechnolgy Research Center*CRBt's work also includes capacity building and knowledge transfer to stakeholders, contributing to improved land use practices and agroecological resilience. In addition, degraded soils often lack organic matter and microbial diversity, making rehabilitation a slow and complex proces.
