The Faiths for Land masterclass is here to teach and inspire. This page sets out the limits of what it offers, so you can use it wisely and safely in your own community.
What the certificate means
When you finish the masterclass, you receive a certificate of completion. It confirms that you have completed the course and met the passing requirements. It is a record of learning, not a professional qualification, licence, or accreditation. It does not make you a certified forester, ecologist, agronomist, or land surveyor, and it should not be presented as such.
Educational, not site-specific advice
The lessons share general principles and good practice for faith-led land restoration. They are educational, and they cannot account for the conditions of your particular site, such as your soil, climate, water, native species, land rights, or local law. Before you plant, dig, or change a piece of land, consult qualified local experts who can assess your specific situation. What works in one place can cause harm in another.
Plant with local knowledge
Choosing the right species, in the right place, at the right time matters. Planting the wrong trees, or planting in the wrong place, can damage ecosystems, water supplies, and livelihoods. Always work with local conservation authorities, agricultural services, and communities who know the land before acting on anything you learn here.
Partner endorsement
The masterclass is offered by the Faiths for Land coalition with the G20 Global Land Initiative, the UNCCD, WWF’s Beliefs & Values Programme, and Trillion Trees. The presence of a partner's name or logo does not mean any partner endorses, reviews, or is responsible for a specific restoration project you carry out, or for any third-party information, organisation, or website we may link to.
The views expressed by Faiths for Land are those of the coalition and do not necessarily reflect those of the United Nations or its Member States.
Use at your own discretion
To the extent the law allows, Faiths for Land and its partners are not liable for any loss or damage arising from how the educational guidance is applied on the ground. Decisions about your land remain yours, made with proper local advice.
Translated captions
The masterclass videos are recorded in English. Captions in other languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Indonesian) are produced by automated machine translation and are offered for accessibility and convenience only. They may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies, and are not official or authoritative translations. The original English audio and captions are the definitive version. To the extent the law allows, Faiths for Land and its partners accept no responsibility for any error, omission, or misunderstanding arising from the use of machine-translated captions. If you notice a mistake, please email info@faithsforland.org and we will gladly correct it.
