The monastery owns a reforested plot of land and works to preserve the land in its surroundings. On behalf of the monastery, Agbang Incarnation Monastery, Togo is responsible for drafting and defending a project for reforestation and the protection of endangered tree species. The organization is faced with the anarchic cutting of wood for firewood, coal and planks.

The organization carried out the project in Togo on 3 hectares of land in a village called Kounkounkp, located in the northern part of the country, in the Kara Region, Kran Prefecture, Ossacr Canton. Although the project was implemented in Kounkounkp, two neighboring villages were also involved, with the intention of expanding the restoration work to those villages in the future. In November 2024, the organization organized a tree planting activity on nearly 4 hectares in Machakos, Kenya, in partnership with Seedballs Kenya. The organization is currently planning a 5-hectare restoration project in Senegal, about 45 km from Dakar. Based on the experience of the project in Togo:. A minimum level of investment is needed to help communities understand the root of the problem and take ownership. This includes training, as well as providing essential materials such as plants, boreholes, and basic tools for planting and maintenance. Government authorities were initially very reluctant to grant us the necessary authorizations, as they were unsure of their intentions in making such a donation to the villagers. The SDGs BRIGADE, a youth-led international network rooted in Togo, is currently leading grassroots efforts to restore approximately 22 hectares of degraded land in the Maritime Region, specifically in the outskirts of Lom. These lands are managed in collaboration with local communities and traditional leaders, many of whom are deeply influenced by spiritual and ancestral values tied to the land. Their ongoing activities include reforestation with native species, assisted natural regeneration, and the promotion of agroecological practices. The organization is also integrating climate education and faith-based environmental teachings to foster a deeper sense of spiritual responsibility for land stewardship among youth and community members. Their restoration work is part of a broader vision of environmental justice and intergenerational equity, deeply inspired by the moral teachings of care for creation. The organization regularly mobilize faith institutions and local churches to host awarenes campaigns, eco-prayers, and community clean-up and planting events. The organization is also developing a pilot Sacred Forests for Climate project, which aims to restore and protect spiritually significant green spaces while creating educational hubs for nature-based solutions. Participation in the Faith4Land Masterclass would significantly strengthen their capacity to scale these efforts and integrate more structured monitoring, resource mobilization, and leadership training. It would also help us formalize a pan-African network of youth and faith actors committed to land restoration. Additionally, the effects of climate change,such as erratic rainfall and soil degradation,undermine their restoration efforts.
