    INADES Formation's planned land restoration activities includes mainstreaming land restoration activities through agroforestry & agroecology practices in INADES Network activities in all countries of intervention( Cote d'Ivoire/ Yamousokoro; Kenya; Tanzania; Rwanda; Burundi; DRC, Cameroon, Tchad, Bourkina Faso; and Togo. INADES Formation's planned land restoration activities includes also tree planting in Cote d'Ivoire/ Yamousokoro site and initiating agroecological centre and keeping supervising trainings of environmental clubs in Catholic schools. Key challenges include key challenges include the key challenges includes insufficient budget for capacity building of farmers organizations and covering all zones in need; mindset of some beneficiaries who have poor understanding on land restoration and role of some tree species in restoration ; management of some invasives tree species.

  • Pan-African Think Do African Network of Young Researchers

    The Pan-African Think Do African Network of Young Researchers is carrying out land restoration activities in Cte d'Ivoire in the south, east and west regions in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Forests as part of the reforestation of forest cover and tree planting, the INAD-CI project from 2025 to 2032 to plant hectares of forest and restoration of land destroyed after cocoa and coffee plantations in Cte d'Ivoire. Key challenges include key challenges include the main challenges facing their organization in terms of sustainable land management and restoration implementation are training, governance, financing, cooperation and human resources.

    In the framework of the Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) project in Mali, Africa is promoting climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Climate Information Services (CIS). This includes : Integrated Rice-Fish system technology which is the co-production of rice and fish are in rice environment t creating an excellent integrated agro-ecological system that contributes to reduce costs and amounts of chemical fertilizer applications and significantly reduces rice field related GHG emissions. Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD). It is a water-saving practice based on the intermittence of flooding. The irrigation is interrupted until the waters level in the soil falls down to a threshold below which the field is re-flooded. It also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and mosquito incidence. RiceAdvice which is a decision support tool developed by AfricaRice to provide farmers with specific crop management guidelines for rice farming systems in Africa. Climate Information Services (CIS) refer to the dissemination of climate data to support people and organizations in making decisions including anticipating and managing risks associated with climate change and variability. Diversification options entail the rotation and/or co-cultivation of rice with others crops such as vegetables, legumes, tubers, and fish, etc., improving soil fertility and therefore reducing amounts of inputs applied especially water and nutrients. Smart-Valleys is a low-cost approach of lowlands developing for rice farming systems focused on the design, development and construction of low-cost water control structures. Multistakeholder platforms (MSPs) are made up of a wide range of stakeholders brought together share and discus their interests, to participate in decision-making and/or implementation of activities to achieve common goals. It is being used to better manage lowlands ecosystem services. Many other relevant technologies are being promoted by the project over the country. These include Solar-Powered Irrigation System, drought/flood tolerant varieties, etc. Climate change with its corollaries combined with inappropriate farming practices exacerbates land degradation and the decrease in productivity. It also causes salinization and evaporation hindering plant growth, affecting yields and water availability and leading to food and water insecurity.

  • International Christian Fellowship Student (ICSF Bilingual Fellowship) - Alassane Ouattara University Bouake

    ICSF Bilingual Fellowship is a Christian student organization based in Cte dIvoire that gathers young evangelical students from diverse backgrounds to become future leaders. While the organization do not yet lead large-scale land restoration projects, the organization is deeply committed to integrating environmental stewardship into their activities. Currently, The organization contributes to designing and implementing their new building project with a focus on preserving green spaces around the site. The organization plan to develop small tree-planting campaigns and awarenes workshops on ecological responsibility in the Abidjan and Yamoussoukro regions. Looking ahead, their vision is to mobilize their student members to actively restore and protect green areas on and around campuses and church grounds, linking faith, leadership, and sustainable land stewardship. The organization also need to strengthen partnerships and build capacity to move from vision to concrete large-scale restoration initiatives.
