While Town of The Blue Mountains is not formally affiliated with a faith organization managing land, Town of The Blue Mountains is deeply involved in environmental infrastructure planning and have a strong interest in starting land restoration efforts through faith-community partnerships. In Town of The Blue Mountains's role as Capital Projects Manager for a municipality in Ontario, Canada, Town of The Blue Mountains works closely with various community stakeholders, including faith-based institutions that own underutilized lands. Town of The Blue Mountains is exploring opportunities to initiate pilot projects on church-owned lands in Grey County, aiming to convert unused parcels into pollinator gardens or reforestation plots in partnership with youth groups and local environmental organizations. The organization alsos support community rain garden projects and green infrastructure retrofits as part of stormwater mitigation efforts. By engaging with faith communities that command both land and trust, The organization aims to promote a model of spiritually inspired stewardship that links ecological restoration with social cohesion. This masterclas will help lay the foundation for these efforts. Moreover, faith-based organizations often lack acces to strategic planning tools and community mobilization frameworks that can catalyze action at scale. Bridging spiritual commitment with practical, science-based action remains a significant hurdle.
