Faiths for Land
The story of faith communities caring for the earth, and of the people who keep that work going.
For as long as there have been people, there has been land to tend.
In many traditions, caring for the land is a sacred duty. Billions of people belong to a faith community, and together those communities look after much of the world's land.
Faith communities look after more of the earth than any government does.
Faith communities look after 8% of the world's habitable land and run half of all schools, and billions of people trust them. The will to act is already there.

Most faith communities want to restore land. What they have lacked is the know-how to start.
Only 28% of faith communities have a restoration plan, and three in four say they lack the technical skills to make one. The commitment is there. What they need is method, partners, and funding.
So a coalition formed to close that gap.
Faiths for Land was founded by the G20 Global Land Initiative, the UNCCD, and WWF’s Beliefs & Values Programme. It now connects 521 faith-led initiatives across 84 countries, so communities can learn from one another and show what faith-led restoration can achieve.
